Choosing To Join Origami Owl®: The Groundwork

When you choose to join any direct sales company, you are ultimately starting your own business! How exciting is that? Now, businesses do take investment to become successful, both time and financially. However, with that being said you do not have to invest a lot of financial resources into your business from the start. The Origami Owl® Business Kit costs $149.99 and includes over $500 in value. It contains the basic materials that you will need to get started. Pair your kit with a few items you may already have at home, or can purchase at local stores or online and you can have a beautiful display using just the product in your kit!

The current kit has been recently updated with items from the new Spring 2014 Collection. Click here to see what the new kit contains.

Perhaps you're thinking that the cost of the kit is more than you'd like to spend or you aren't even sure you'll be able to sell it. Well, thats a common fear of many! As with any business decision, I encourage all potential Designers to do some ground work before you join to help you make the best choice for you.

  • Your friends and family are going to be your initial circle of people who you introduce the product to. Tell them about your interest in starting your own business! Then grab a catalog or hop online and show them the product. See if they would be interested in not just purchasing from you if you joined, but being one of your first Hostesses for a party!
  • Choose a mentor and team that you feel is the best fit for you. Origami Owl® offers many resources and wants to see you succeed. However, having a mentor to help guide you and answer questions is an important part of starting your business and your success.
  • Consider how much time you'd like to invest. Origami Owl® designer requirements to stay active can be reached at even the hobbyists level. Are you looking to do one party a month, or perhaps 2-3 parties a week? The more time you invest, the greater your reach and commission potential.
  • Are you interested in branching out beyond Jewelry Bars®? Many areas host local vendor events, craft shows, etc. and these are fabulous ways to find new people and generate interest for sales, hostesses, and new designers. Do your research! What kind of events do you see in your area? Is this something you'd be interested in doing once you've joined?
  • Finally, consider your reason for joining and long term goals. Are you trying to raise funds for a vacation? Looking to supplement an existing job, or make this a full time career? Do you want to build a team, get into social media, or focus primarily on Jewelry Bars® and events?

While you cannot officially sell, book a party, or sign up for a event prior to joining, considering your goals and what kind of investment you'd like to make will help you feel more confident in your decision to join.

Choosing to join Origami Owl® was both an exciting and nerve-wracking experience for me! I had never been in direct sales or done anything similar to it prior. However with the help of a great mentor and a strong team to support me, I felt confident in my decision to join. My only regret to this day, is wishing I had joined sooner!
